Habermatic News & Magazine Template
1. Installing Quickstart package
* How a quickstart package works?
A Quickstart package is a total Joomla website installation kit that installs the template and all of the components and plug-ins onto your server at once. For each template, Joomla Habermatic News and Magazine Template provides the Quickstart package to use easily and comfortably. It will help you save much time on installing and configuring if you plan to start your site in the beginning. Installing Quickstart package is quite easy as you install normal Joomla!
In short, Quickstart = Joomla! + Template + Modules or/and Plugins + Images* + demo content included Step 1: Download Joomla Love template package:
Download Quickstart package from Joomla Habermatic News and Magazine Template Please make sure you download correct package for the Joomla version which you want to use.
Step 2: Unzip Quickstart package
The next step is extracting the file locally identified as Quickstart. After the extraction is done, it will contain within all files needed to perform this type of installation.
Step 3: Extract and upload it to your server
Upload all the files into the directory of your website that you want to install your new Joomla! project. Depending on upload speed of your connection or your server configuration, this process might take several minutes.
If you don't have any FTP software, we recommend FileZilla - a powerful and free FTP solution.
Step 4 : Files Installation.
After opening the page, you will see a window like the picture below. Continue by clicking the next button that appears. Continue by creating your database and password from your panel and typing them into the fields on the screen.
So after the installation is complete, you can change your data log without any problem.
Note: If you're installing Quickstart on "live site" (not on local server, localhost), check "permissions" to 755 when uploading with FTP (cPanel), if there is a problem with install. Please do not use "admin" as a your default Super Admin Username (!). Use something more unique during installation process (security reasons).
Install page 2 is the database page. The details you enter here are important because the actual information for your Joomla installation is going to be stored at that page. In a nutshell you need to create a MySQL database, a user for the database and then assign that user to the database you created. This step requires a slight detour and we need to open up CPanel on our server.
Step 5 : Prepare your database
Open the cpanel account on your server. Most of the time you find this by navigating to http://www.mysite.com/cpanel. Once you have logged in navigate to the database area of the cpanel account. This may look different on your server because of difference of the theme ... but the image below shows you what it looks like on one of our servers.
You can use the database wizard to skip the process. But for those who don't have the wizard on their cpanel installation, this is the guide to create the database.
Click on the mysql database icon and write the name of the database you want to use for your site in the window provided. You can use
any name you want. Click on the Create database button and you should receive a success message telling you that the database has been created.
Navigate back to the mysql database page and scroll down to where the Create new mysql user input boxes are.
The username and password you put in here are really up to you. However, you should use the random password generator to improve your Joomla site security.
After clicking Create New User, you will receive the success message and you are abled to navigate back to the mysql page and scroll down the page again. Take a note of the username and password - as we will need this later.
You now need to assign the user to the database. So where it says "Add user to database" select the database and the user you have just created and make sure that they appear in the top and the bottom drop down boxes.
Once you have the new user and new database in the select boxes, you click add and the following screen will appear.
Assign full or all privileges to the users and click "make changes" submit or add users or whichever submit button you have there. Then, you receive another message telling that your users have been successfully added to the database. You need to pay attention to the names they use here as the database prefix and users prefix will be needed when filling out the information in the next step. For example, while doing this tutorial, the dummy database that is created called test and we can access it on our server by using Joomla Habermatic News and Magazine Template.
Step 6: Database Configuration
Select MySQL type of database from drop down list and enter the hostname of the databaseserver Joomla! that will be installed on (normally it's "localhost").
This may not necessarily be the same as your Web server, so check your hosting provider if you are not sure. Enter the MySQL username, password and database name that you previously created on your host control panel. Then press next to go to next step.
Step 7: Install Sample data
Step 8 : Main information configuration
Finally, the installation is finished and do not forget to remove the installation file. You can view your site and admin panel. These are http://www.mysite.com and http://www.mysite.com/administrator.
If you were to do the normal installation of Joomla, the website name, Admin email and password will be configured on this page. However, you will find these areas purposely inaccessible. Note that this version is made by Joomla Habermatic News and Magazine Template. So after the installation is complete, you can change your data log without any problem.
Step 9 : End Installation
Congratulations! The installation is successfully completed. However, before enjoying your new website, you must delete "installation" directory by Click to button "remove installation folder" or rename/delete it via FTP.
After performing this step, click "Site" button to visit the homepage of your website. You will see the new website fully

Install via FTP (unpacket template file)
Templates can also be installed via FTP without packaging them. Simply select the template folder on your PC and upload it to your server, using your favourite FTP software. Be sure you upload the template folder to the directory: /path_to_joomla/templates/ - where /path_to_joomla/ is the location of your Joomla! installation on the server. This method is mostly used when you have created a template yourself, and do not want to have to package it to install the template, or if you want to upload more than one template at once. You must then go into extension manager and click on Discover in the sub menu. Click on "Discover" in the toolbar if your template doesn't immediately appear. A list of uninstalled items in the FTP should then appear. Click the checkbox to the left of your template and click on the button 'Install'.
Installing an extension
Before starting it always is wise to read the documentation associated with an extension. Most extensions have homepages and forums, and it is a good idea to look at them first. If there is a README file included with the extension, you should read it. For most extensions and most users, the procedure will be:+ Download the extension to your local machine as a zip file package.+ From the backend of your Joomla site administration) select Extensions Install/Uninstall.
+ Click the Browse button and select the extension package on your local machine.
+ Click the Upload File & Install button.
+ Some extensions may provide further instructions on installation.
+ Note that modules and plugins must be enabled before they will work.
There are some situations in which this procedure will not work. Sometimes you need to unzip the file locally prior to installing. If you get an error saying that the file is not in the correct format, the need to unzip is a common cause of this. After unzipping try installing the individual items. Note that the files you upload using the installer still need to be zipped. Sometimes you cannot use the automated installer. For example, very large extensions may exceed the maximum upload size allowed by your host. Also, If you see an error like this: Warning: is_dir() function.is-dir]: open_basedir restriction in effect.
File(/) is not within the allowed path(s): ...
this is because of a restriction of your hosting account which leads Joomla! to try to check if the root directory exists. You will not be able to use the automated installer.
First, unzip all of the files in a local directory (for instance com_installer). Then transfer the directory (using FTP) to a folder under the install directory (for instance administrator/components), appropriate for the type of extension you are installing (visible in its xml file, a line like <extension type="component" ...). Then use the installer, but select "install from directory" indicating the correct folder name. This folder
name should be an absolute path from the root of the filesystem.
